A Culture of Caring…
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
― Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”
With any organization, culture determines the quality of both the participants as well as the results of the outcome or product. At SPCS, we are especially aware of this and strive to promote a culture unrestricted by the walls of our building or the hours of the work day.
Our employees are encouraged to embrace a culture of sharing their time, talents and giving to others. As just one example, Bill Hascall, (our Work Order Department Manager), is returning once again to Kenya as a member of Every Life, Inc., providing hope to those in need. From pouring concrete to building furniture, the mission teams Bill has participated in have worked to improve the lives of those less fortunate.
This year will be Bill’s tenth year of traveling to Africa for this worthy cause. Bill will be away from his family and friends for the next three weeks. We would appreciate you including Bill, his family and the entire mission team in your thoughts and prayers while he is away performing this vital work toward making the world a better place for all.
Obviously, we at SPCS are proud of Bill and all the members of our team who look for opportunities to serve others. By sharing Bill’s story, we hope to inspire others to reach out and let their “own lights shine”.
